Reach Truck Operator

Designed For: 

a) Candidates with previous experience or already hold a certificate, but require a refresher or conversion course 

b) Candidates with previous experience who have in the recent past undergone formal training and are considered by their employer to be at basic operator test standard.

c) Candidates who in the past have operated reach trucks but have received no formal training.

d) Candidates who have no previous experience with operating reach trucks (i.e. a novice)

 

Objectives: 

On completion, the trainee will be expected to have attained a level of operating skills which will comply with the standards laid down by the JIC and the HSE Approved Code of Practice 117. The trainee will be expected to complete both the written test paper and successfully demonstrate their level of basic operator skills under test conditions.

Daily Checks, Battery Care, Hydraulic Systems

Operating Procedures

Steering Operations

Manoeuvring in confined spaces

Stacking and De-Stacking loads at various heights

Loading and Un-loading Lorries

Practical Operating Assessment and correction of faults

Written and practical tests

 

Duration: 

1/2 - 5 Days Depending on experience.
